Hunger Grant partnership benefits Burnsville
Grant Supporting changes at the 360 Communities Food Shelf
Partnership between Hunger Free MN, 360 Communities and
Burnsville Breakfast & Burnsville Noon Rotary Clubs
The Burnsville Breakfast and Burnsville Noon Rotary Clubs partnered with 360 Communities to update and revise the flow of their Food Shelf to a "clint choice" food pantry where clients can shop for their own groceries, rather than picking up pre-packed bags of food. A Hunger Grant from Rotary and Hunger Free MN was obtained to purchase two freezers and two refrigerators to add to the Food Shelf.
On Friday, March 21, sixteen Rotarians joined the 360 Community Volunteers to reformat the Food Shelf, including cleaning the room, painting the shelfs, revising the flow of the shelving, and moving out & later restacking the shelves. Clients of 360 Communities are learning a new method of shopping, and the Rotary Clubs enjoyed a collaborative event supporting our local Food Shelf.
